I got my very first flock of chickens back in March. I never expected to be moving just a few months later. We are moving to our new home August 1st, and would like to move our chickens as well. What is the best way to transport chickens?! We have 10 all together, I wasn't sure if anyone had any really good ideas, or tips for transport, if you do I'd love to hear them!

We'll be traveling only about 30 miles, we're in the Kansas City area, so weather will most likely be pretty warm, if not just plain hot. I had thought maybe a large dog crate, or something similar, but I wasn't sure if anyone had any better ideas or tips!

I would go with one large dog kennel for the group. I transported a smaller number but split them between crates. But when we arrived, those who had travelled together had bonded. One who travelled solo in a small crate had a rough time with the pecking order because she wasn't part of a pair or trio. Just my two cents :)
