Trap problem.

I'll move it back into the woods and something heavy to weigh it down. This is the largest trap I can use. I can't spend 160 to get a huge trap at the moment. It'd be nice though.
If you put a rock on top and up against the sides to help stabilize it that should work a little better. You can line the inside with leaves and pine needles too. Try to hide it as best you can while not getting any sticks in the way of the door closing or under the pan on the inside.
Foothold traps would be a better option. Learning curve to setting them but a rubber jawed 1.5 or 1.65 size trap is fine for fox and raccoons and is around $15. Keep the cat put up though. Good
