Traveling with chickens?

does it seem to overly stress them mess with their egg laying or cause anymoult issues. I'd love to take my babies with me but not at the expense of their long term health and longgetivity. I'm not that selfish eggs are too cheap and face it if it was only about the eggs most of us wouldn't be doing it anyway. I find them fun and relaxing to watch and interact with. anywhere cool to be would be cooler with my birdies.

If your purpose is to just travel with them as "buddies", I would say leave them home. It does mess with them some. They are creatures of habit. Changing scenery is not easy on them. When I take them to shows the hens seldom lay with the moves.

After they have been shown a few times they are faster recovering from the move. If you want a traveling "buddy" I suggest a dog.

Also traveling with birds for the sake of traveling is a good way to pick up a disease that will kill your birds or spreading a disease that will kill someone else's birds.

Ok so skip that idea like having them around and thought it would be neat to have my eggs and buddies too not to mention not having to find someone to take care of them while gone but I'd not want to endanger my girls or boys for that matter. May have to re home them if we take to the road much of the time.

I did enjoy rreading that story. Very cool gives me food for thought.
