Treat question....

So living up north where I do we have terrible choices for quality produce, esp this time of year. That being said, I bought a new head of celery the other day not thinking about it, and i was wondering if i could feed the older head i have, just getting old not moldy, to the hoard out back? I looked on the treat guide on here and couldn't find anything. I don't want to make them sick but I'm guessing some nice green treats when the snow is still rear end deep to tall individual, would be very welcome. I also don't want to deal with the other half if I accidentally hurt or kill of HER pets, i mean chickens.......

Toss it on out there they will eat it if they want it, though my girls have never been too anxious to eat celery.

Should be fine as long as its not moldy. I often give my chickens berries and such when the skin just starts to wrinkle.

I did, it didn't last long... Made some stir fry Friday night, took all of the veggie ends and peels i had, those I knew were okay for them, along with the celery and sprinkle of cleaned and crushed egg shell, it was gone in under 2 hrs
