Treating Anemia from Mites and/or Worms

I.read the ppl on here said it could be anemia like the other person said with his on this thread yes he is on apple cider vinegar. What feed can I give him to gain wait? And wat is the best feed for rooster and hens in same barn? Right now there on leynea feed

She was with her mom and brothers and sisters but she doesn't eat much or drink much and she post some weight and we clean it often we put tylan 200 not often but we do we given her honey and a mixture of this apple thing people say it's good for them do we make the mixture and apply it to her eye

try cat food that is sold in cans. in other words: not kibble/dry food but if you happen to have that, you could try offering this as well (broken up into smaller pieces).

You mean wet can food? Kibble is dry food. U mean I can or shouldnt dry food? Cuz first u said no kibble then dry food?

And what is the best chicken feed to feed hens and roosterd in same barn? I know high calcium is not good for roosters. Right now there on leayna chicken feed is that ok?

Hi u didnt say that to the other person with his sick chicken? And my chicken sounds like have same sickness as the other person u talk too. Our vets dont cost that much. And no no vets that I called dose chickens. The person u talk to why didnt u tell him bring his to vet? I said he dont have worms and he never had lice or mites to get worms. He drinks ok and eats allot. He dont like scramble eggs tryied it. I do have meds. Maybe one of them will help. What kind of yourgurt is that? And I ask about the vet u said what it means I think it was variose vets????? Yes it is cold here very my chickens have two heat lamps in there barn

Plain yogurt is yogurt with out the flavorings. I will give four hens a scoop of plain Greek yogurt and mix it with either plain oatmeal or some feed/scratch.

Various vets means different vets in your area to see if you any of them can advise you if they take chickens, but from your previous post it sounds like you already did this.

I have only hens, so I can't advise you more on the feed requirements of a rooster.

I'm having similar issues as previously stated in this thread. My question is what is the feeding schedule like when hens are sick?
Do I give apple cider vinegar/egg/electrolyte/yogurt etc once per day or small amounts several times per day?
Same question applies if I have to feed through a (needle-less) syringe?
I feel like I'm sometimes not giving enough food/nutrition but I'm also afraid of over doing it.
Right now she's very skinny and lethargic. She'll drink and eat but her comb turned grey overnight. I'm worried.

One of my bantam roosters had a bad infestation of mites over the winter, and I didn't realize it until I noticed his comb and wattles had become very pale and he lacked his usual energy. I bathed him and treated him with topical Ivomec, so the varmints are under control (which would also take care of any worms).

Now I need to treat what looks like anemia from loss of blood. It seems that dietary iron and protein supplements would help, but I don't want to give him stuff intended for humans. So far, I've been giving him iron-rich foods, scrambled eggs for protein, and poultry vitamins/electrolytes in his water (I don't think that has quite what he needs), but don't see any improvement in comb color, though his energy is a little better.

Has anyone on BYC had to treat their chickens for this kind of anemia, and if you did and were successful, how did you do it?

I lost a few birds like this and have a few more.. please help
