I go to the vet, get mite/lice drops for poultry and then I give them the drops

Permethrin spray concentrate! At night when they are roosting, spray the birds and the coop. Repeat in ten days or so. Easy, effective, inexpensive, and no egg withdrawal.

Permethrin spray concentrate is available at TSC and many other farm stores. It will have instructions for mixing it with water, easy. Your veterinarian won't have it in stock, it's a farm store item.
