Treating under wing and feet burns?

He's made a full recovery physically! I followed everyone's advice carefully. He still has a very small scab over the bad burn, and a very small scab over the blister, but I don't consider it worth worrying over. The huge gunk scab fell off to reveal the tiny one. Everything around the tiny wound healed up. So he's out of the woods, phew! I still eyeball it when holding him, but he no longer has to hang upside down in a towel.

Mentally we're getting there. Nights are hard for him without his mate. I've taken up taking him out of his cage and loving him before I put him to bed. It's a great excuse to check his wounds. The only downside is he trots across the back of my couch. So I have to have a clean sheet over it when he comes out. Birds poop a lot. He's figured out how to use the sheet to climb down onto my lap.


Thank you all for the help! I can't afford a vet, really. I'm still recovering from the $3.5k I dropped on my other cat last year! Giles also says thank you, and "kiss kiss"

Thank you! He comes out every night and plays "Kiss Kiss" with me. This involves shoving his head into my eyesocket and clicking his beak when I make a kissing noise. He pulls his wings out a bit and clicks. He'll also sing to my eyeball. I have to have my eye open so he can get close up. It requires a LOT of trust. I like my eyes!

We also play "Music Conductor" when he's on his cage. His cage is directly across from the couch. I raise my hand up, then swoop it down a bit. He drops his head down to follow it and chirps loudly. I swoop up, he rises up and chirps. I've gotten him so excited he's flown off his cage.

Thank you all again so very much. He's a very special bird. I rescued him 10+ years ago. I spent a year teaching him to take treats, be more confident, sing, interact, and just be social. When I go on vacation I have to call and tell "Giles!" While on speaker phone so he doesn't "wilt". Getting burned was super scary for both of us. Moreso me than him, I think!

The only bird who I routinely buy broken laptops for. He happily destroys the keyboard. He also has a permanent computer tower beside his cage. I took the side off and let him have it. He goes in and peels the wires and sings. He doesn't swallow anything. I have my own "IT Tech bird." He will also unplaster your wall or eat a book if you need it! And he will happily whistle while he works.
