Thanks for the information for future reference.The dosing was based on the weight for each bird. The vet figured it all out for me. For example my smallest hen weighed 973g and the dose was 0.17cc (Praziquantel 56.8mg/ml) intramuscular injection in the breast. They sold me an entire 10ml bottle for just under $200. A lot of money I know, but less than the $350 price I was quoted at another vet.
These are not food production animals to me, they’re pets. If I had any idea how much they would cost me to treat them as such, I wouldn’t have gotten so many.But they’ve made themselves way too lovable with their sweet and affectionate personalities and I’m stuck now. Even my 4 little silkie roos are ridiculously docile and easygoing. Definitely not getting any more though. No chicken math happening over here!
I completely understand where you're coming from and I can relate. I think I can safely say that I have a considerable amount of time and money invested in my birds.
Even now I'm building a new coop for my new chicks I recently acquired. $$$.
