Hello BYC community, I recently found out that one of my hens has mites at her vent area. They are brown and are moving around her vent area. The hen has been eating but she hasn’t laid any eggs in a week. This is my first time dealing with mites/lice and I heard that I should clean the whole coop, replace bedding, and treat all hens but I would like to know what sort of product I should use to treat this. I will try to get a picture tomorrow of the bugs.
Thank you.

Is there a wound near her vent?
If she's infested, the rest of the flock is, too. You can treat her with a mite spray.

To treat the hens permethrine worked for us.

I saw some white spots near her vent which I’m assuming are eggs that the mites laid. Also, is permethrine a dust or a spray?

Yes the white spots are eggs and permethrine is a liquid that you dilute with water. This is the stuff I have, it has instructions that come with it.
