I got some of those plants in my yard, too. Last year, it wasn't a problem with the free-ranging chickens. But then again, they didn't get sick from the avocado, either. Of course I won't feed them that again, now that I know! I think if they're overall healthy birds, they can probably tolerate an upset stomach (crop) every once in a while...

^ My yard has a bunch too - I would have to take out quite a bit, so they will stay in their spacious run unless supervised and until safe.​

I just found this thread which makes me feel much better. Already my littlest 5 week old was loving eating my lilac but happily that was not on the list. I will do some more research and remove the most dangerous plants before I let them free range in the yard. It's a small Philly row house yard and I have more garden than grass.
