Treats for 5 week old chicks? Ones that don't move?

Ohh if that's the case, then my chickens will not be gett'n any crickets anytime soon...it's one thing to pop it in there and hope for the best, but eeks, torturing the poor thing before giving it a grueling last look at the world...I just can't do it...call me a whimp! LOL

Crickets, grasshoppers, any sort of worms, etc. don't need any help from us to get victimized by chickens. You can put them in live and the chickens will be delighted. At least after they learn we are not trying to poison them. They may reject anything new, but can learn better, very quickly. Just takes one chicken who figures out that the mealworm or whatever is tasty. I have huge grasshoppers and grandkids. The chickens learned quickly.

So my four are probably a little older than 2 weeks ( got them at TSC so not sure) So far they only had boiled eggs and cheerios, but after reading the thread I just took a couple pinches of shredded cheese in and you would have thought I gave hershey kisses to a 3 year old!!!!! OMG!!! Theese are my first babies and I never dreamt they would be such little brats!!!! They are a riot!!!

My ladies n'gents range from 4 weeks to 1 yr
and they all love any salad greens and yogurt.
and tomatos they fight for./

I'm sure it's been said, but yogurt is a sure winner. I also like to give them the ends off of tomatoes, or any other dinner waste that looks palatable. Cheese rinds are a hit.

My chicks always love dry oatmeal out of my hand. I have to wear a glove now that they are older. It has to be the same glove or one that looks like the one they have gotten used to. If I try to use another they run away from it.

We've tried yogurt a few times, eggs, & oatmeal...with no luck: however, meal worms are a HUGE HIT...I think they like the 'moving targets' best...I have little beasts that love the thrill of a good chase...LOL
