Is it OK to feed bobs pet bird seed? Like the walmart brand?

You can give it to them as a treat, but they will need their regular food too.

Don't ever give chicks anything but their starter, but you can give them small amounts daily as adults.

If you do feed it, give it ONLY to adults. Remember, if you are feeding them seeds, they MUST have grit, also.

DO NOT feed them any sort of "live food" like mealworms. They should never have live food until they are fully grown. Otherwise, they can get aggressive with each other and kill each other or hurt each other. I

Again, chicks ONLY get starter feed. The best way to tame your coturnix chicks is to just put your hands in their cages a lot. So long as they see you around a lot, they will tame down. They may go through a phase where they spook easily. However, if you keep hanging around their cages and putting your hands in for things, then they will calm back down later.
