Treats for Chicks

I don’t give treats to my chicks, besides the occasional mealworm. Though my grown up hens like freshly popped popcorn. (No butter or salt)

are you giving them grit? if they get anything other than chick food they need grit in order to be able to break it down.

What type of chick good are you feeding? I haven't heard of any that have grit in it. The crumbs are not grit just food...

If feed ONLY feed crumble or pellets, grit not needed. However, chickens will get into other things, and need grit to “Chew” up this other food in the gizzard. Grit is insoluble granite bits. granite is heavy, so there isn’t any feed I am aware of that would include granite.

Mine also love watermelon! I especially like to give them chilled watermelon on hot days.
