Trencher machine for run install

I just finished wiring my new coop. I'll rent a trencher to get electicitiy from the house. The wiring will go under what will become a 12' x 16' run.

Would it make sense to mark out the run on the ground with spray paint and then trench around the perimeter to simplify the burying of the hardware cloth? If so, would you trench before or after installing the 4 x 4 fence posts?

I would use the trencher to help bury the hardware cloth. That would make that task much easier. That is a great idea! I would run the trench before putting in the posts though. That would be easier than trying to go around the posts, especially if you are using the trench for the wire.

Since I just finished manually digging out the fence line, a trencher sounds great! We cemented in the 4 x 4, so I had to work around the cement. I think doing a double trench, if that is possible, would give you enough readily removable soil to bury the hardware cloth. Good luck!

ETA--yes, trench before putting up the 4 x 4.
