Triangular cyst?

So today it is raining, so the chickens feathers are a bit ruffled. At the base of his tale, on top of his back my I noticed my rooster has something weird. I’ll try to get a picture tomorrow. It’s a cone shape, skin coloured just coming out from his skin. There is no feathers coming out of it. Anyone ever had this before? It’s about 15mm tall coming out of his skin, and cone shaped.
 
Is it the oil (preen) gland? It is also called the uropygial gland.

I just found the same thing on my australorp roo too! What is it? It has a white tip on it too

This is their oil or preening gland. If you ever notice them sticking their head underneath the base of their tail while preening, they are most likely gathering oil from this gland. They coat their feathers with this oil to keep them healthy and shiny.
