Sorry Ralph. Yeah...I know...just another bird...but still. I fear heat much more than the cold. It's hard on my birds and dogs.
There was a bit of a punch left in Harvey. The wind was constant & scary. Almost 5 inches of rain. Some flooding and downed trees. My yards are covered with downed branches. Nothing huge but it will take awhile to clean up. Never lost power. Feel lucky compared to most. Birds are fine.

The rest are either hens or too young to tell.
We agree R2elk....see you've taught me well!!

My girls are tremendous foragers. In the morning & evenings. Then they lounge around on their tail feathers. They are not as ambitious foragers as my chickens.

Hey Ralphie...I named my two baby SS chicks Spot & Dot.

Yes Ralphie. ..that about summarizes my girls too. I have a TON of debris strewn all over my yard, thanks to Harvey. Cleaning up with the girls in attendance is quite the challenge! Every time I pick something up (lots of tree debris) they want to take it from me. Or inspect the trash bag I stuff it in. Actually had to put the in their run just to get done without falling over one of them....
