Turkeys had so many visitors today they are tuckered. Been snoozing in front of the fan most of the day. Just took out some cold watermelon. That will perk them up! They do love a watermelon!

Girls were exhausted last night. Lots of visitors throughout the day. Heck, I was exhausted. Our little neighborhood parade is an event. Tons of people. Most neighbors have family & friends over & they all seemed to want to introduce them to the turkeys. And it was SOOO hot! The girls went directly to bed without even asking to go for their usual evening stroll. Now that's a few tuckered turkeys!!

Why ... on the hottest day of the year...Annie decided she needs some lap time is beyond me. She very rarely hops in my lap. Maybe because it's usually occupied by Daisy. I was sitting in front of a fan....but shes heavy & hot. She fell asleep...again something she doesn't usually do. Silly birds!

Mastiff puppy? Lotta dog! Friend of mine here raises some lovely Mastiffs. I've shown them a few times for her when she got hung up at dog shows. They are really sweet.

Yooper....tough little guy!! You may have to keep it company until the wound heals more. I'd hesitate to put a chick with it.

Poor Annie...shes been laying an evening egg. Meaning, she wants to come out for a walk, but the urge hits her & she goes running down the driveway to her nest box. Complaining the whole way. I swear she can run while holding her legs together. Such drama! Daisy of course could care less & wants to continue grazing. Funny how many cars stop & ask what happened to the red turkey! When I tell them shes in her nest laying an egg it always elicits a smile & an "awww"! Just interesting how many notice shes missing.
