My turkeys know their names... and come when called. Tell your daughter after several months of saying their name and handing them a seed they figured it out. Takes some time and consistent training. A turkey responding to its name & coming when called impresses the pet dog owners whose dogs blow them off. Tell her it's all about time & consistency. Do the same thing over & over and in the same way and he'll figure it out!

Sorry....just can't help offering Turkey training tips! After all, Daisy will complete a whole agility course! So proud of her!

Keep a few BOSS seeds in your pocket. Hand JJJr. one every so often. That might help. Of course he may realize your pocket is the source of all seeds & get his head stuck in your pocket. That happened to me. But an occasional seed seemed to help at first. At first I'd hand them just one seed at a time after saying their name. Now they lap without seeds. They just want attention! That or a soft place for a nap!

Flashpoint....your not needy, good questions! Mine have a 16x16 combo coop and run. The back one fourth has boards on two sides and the back. That's were their roosts are. It's for a wind block during the winter, or tornado! Its completely covered with a corrugated roof. But they free range all day and are only in there at night, or to lay an egg, or if I need to confine them for some reason. I have to lick up Daisy when I mow or am hosting an event involving food. They will steal food off people's plates.
