Now we are going to set record lows. We actually have a wind chill. At least the rain stopped. We may have snow flurries on Tuesday. More crazy weather.

Left the gate open when I went to get the trash can. Wanted to see if the teenagers would follow Daisy & I down the driveway. They stood in the gate & watched us. They looked like the three stooges! Didn't step outside the gate, but were awfully curious. They were sure talking about it! When we got back we got a flapping & yapping greeting. Teenagers are so funny.

Thanks Flashpoint....I think they are pretty.

An orange turkey "Safety Saddle" is a great idea. I hate ironing too!

My girls are piggies! I know they are growing teenagers, but dang they are going through the feed! But there isn't much available when they are free ranging. They all have nice trim figures. Eating a ton but no noticeable weight gain. However, Daisy has middle age spread! When I let them out yesterday, Iris & Marigold followed Daisy doing touch & goes to the end of the yard & back. I had to laugh....turkeys bouncing everywhere. Just glad no one bounced over the fence....

Letting the dogs out early, as usual. Passed the turkey coop & heard Daisy whispering to me, as usual. But this time the teenagers joined in for the first time. All softly talking to me. So glad Daisy taught them to whisper good morning. Its honestly one of my favorite things. Hearing the hens softly talking from the dark depths of their coop starts my day with a smile! Turkeys are the best!!

Just solved a mystery!! Finally saw the coonhound bag a squirrel! Could not figure out how he was able to run one down. They are fast & zig & zag. Coonhound doesn't zig & zag well. He's built to go straight. He's not chasing them. He's picking them off tree trunks. They run to a tree. Scramble up the trunk. But apparently think they are safe without going all the way up the tree. Then coonhound rushes the tree & nabs them. He make a quick rush to the tree & grabs them before they know what hits them. Guess they don't realize he can jump 7 feet in the air. Surprise! This coonie can climb! Wraps his front legs on the tree & uses his rear legs to propel up the tree. I need to try to get it on video. Then...breaks their necks, shakes them a bit, drops them & trots off. This dog is much more athletic than I initially gave him credit for. Can't zig & zag well...but has other talents.

Had a neighborhood yard sale today. I didn't participate, but wandered out to visit. Neighbors were full of questions about the new girls. Everyone wondering when they will make their front yard debuts. Explained I'm leaving the gate open when Daisy & I venture out....its up to them when they want to follow us down the drive. Still a little concerned Iris will be startled by something causing her to fly into the next county! Turkeys in training....It's all a process!
