Ralphie. ..consider the possibility that Ginger just wants to spend time with you!

Daisy just laid another egg. Went to tuck them in & she was on her nest. Picked up Annie to give her some lap time without Daisy pulling her tail. And....plop.....she was done with the egg & ran over to be pesty about another bird in my lap. Daisy owns me I guess.

Anybody else think their hens are close to laying?

Dang that House Chicken is making me regret not eating breakfast before coming to work!

Speaking of House Turkey's.....any luck pawning a few of the boys off to some of the Minnesota folks? I would think they would jump at the chance to own a few of those rare and famous birds.

I was horrified to read that R2elk had a few birds die trying to pass an egg. I know that happens ....I would just hate to loose turkey or chicken that way.

My turkey girls are the best! Got home in time last night to let them free range a few hours before turkey tuck-in time. Then I got stuck on the phone and was a bit late getting them into their coop. But no fears....they were both perched on my backporch railing waiting for me. They ever so politely hopped down and followed me to their coop. They are just good girls. Maybe I just stick to hens and forget about a tom. I'm still mulling that over.

Aurora! Glad to hear the turkey egg went over well! My chickens are freeloading slackers but Daisy is laying. So I've been eating her eggs. I do like them!

R2elk...I'm not ready to start any type of breeding program right now. Hence,my lack of interest in a bator. I enjoy my turkeys as pets. So, as much as I would love to have a tom....I don't think I need to go there. I don't want to get over my head. At some point I may decide to breed. But I've only had the girls since July. I'm still learning too much about turkey care, temperament and genetics to want to start something yet.

Can't wait to see the chicks! Chaos, Ralphie and Aurora....anybody else incubating right now? I know Feisty has a hen sitting. I guess Aurora is the only one with turkey eggs in the incubator. Can't wait to see those little Adam babies!

Feedman...did you say your setting eggs too? Did your incubators survive the fire??
