I'm also nominating Chaos & Aurora for possible inclusion into our TURKEY MATH HALL OF FAME. Chaos due to the fact that he figured out genotypes and will be adding multiple hens accordingly. And Aurora for convincing her DH she needs three fully loaded incubators!

I discovered a quick way to rid yourself of annoying sales people! Yesterday I stopped in one of those garden/outdoor furniture stores. They are having a sale. I have two wooden garden chairs, one of which has been parked in my turkey pen all summer. Would like to reunite them, so am looking for a new chair for the turkey pen. I was specific with the sales person...needed wide arms ( for perching ), something heavy enough that the girls won't knock over and a durable finish I can scrub. Nothing was living up to my specs. I could see the sales person was frustrated. That's when I finally admitted what I wanted the chairs for. Poor gal just looked at me and drifted away never to be seen again! Guess they don't get a lot of folks looking for turkey friendly lawn furniture!

Hi Ralphie! Sounds like a cool trip so far! Paducah is not far from me. I could have met you to pick up Penguin! By the way, the Mississippi River is a mile wide in Memphis. I work in a 100 year old cotton warehouse overlooking the river. Love it!

I'm seeing Carrie ' s foo foo dogs as a huge problem. If a man asked me to get rid of my dogs that would be a relationship ender! Hmmmm....you may want to reconsider your pending marriage.

There you go MM! Ralph has a great solution to the deck issue! Just divorce your DH! :lau

Ralph, travel safe & keep us posted!

Ralphie. ..other than meeting your new wife Tuesday, got any other Nashville plans? I think it's the 90ith anniversary of the Grand Ole Opery. There are some interesting civil war sites over there too. Belle Meade & the Carnton Mansion are interesting.

Not sure if you've had time to read some of our posts, but we voted you the Poster Boy for our Turkey Math Hall of fame. I'm sure in your acceptance speech you'll be thanking JJ & Ethel. We are considering Chaos & Aurora for possible inclusion. Of course we are waiting to see how many hens Chaos add, and if he'll get another tom! And of course Aurora is sitting there with three incubators and a DH willing to build more pens!! Feisty and I are sitting on the sidelines since we are scared to own incubators. And who know what will happen to MM once she divorces her DH over the turkey poop incidents. Sounds like we are in for an interesting hatching season!

Hey Ralphie! Hope ya'll having a good time down here south of the Mason Dixon! Weather is nice! You wearing cowboy boots yet? I'm hoping you treat yourself go some down home cooking while in Tennessee! It usually amounts to fried or cooked in lard! I forgot about the railing at the Ryman! Perfect for turkey perching!

What do you mean your failing Turkey Math! Your our Poster Boy!

If you need me to bail you out of jail for invading the zoos turkey pen, just pm me, I can be there in 3 hours!

You know, if you certify JJ as your emotional help bird he could go everywhere with you. He could wear his customized Flight Suit so there are no unfortunate accidents while at the Ryman! !

Hey guys!

Aurora, sorry about the car. Ugg. But that's a funny picture of Eve directing the attempted car repair! Hope your DH appreciated the extra hand...uh....wing! :)

Feisty! Not again! Poor Turkules! Wonder what he did. Wise to lower the roost. Knowing how much turkeys like change, I'm sure you did get major stink eye!

Those look like Bronze to me too. You can always go to Porters or Feathersite and check out their pictures. And, as R2elk has pointed out multiple times, it's illegal to own wild turkeys without a permit I believe that's in all states.

We had great weather this weekend. Spent a lot of time in the gardens. Turkeys sure love tools! Everytime I set something down it was the center of attention. I even groomed a few of the dogs outside. Set up the grooming table, went in to grab a dog & came out to two turkeys (and one chicken ) standing on the table. Boy were they proud of themselves!
