Bannturkmom, mine think they are "entitled "! For some reason they think they should be allowed to do anything they want. Which does include coming in the house. They've even requested the keys to the car. Just had to draw the line! No, they can't come in the house & no, they can't use the car! :)

Feisty, how does one accidentally acquire two chickens on the way home from work? Love it!! What breed?

I don't but that doesn't mean that it isn't beneficial to do so.
Thanks R2elk. I haven't been doing anything extra for their molt. They do get BOSS as treats and free range during the day. They have their feed with free choice calcium, if so inclined. Guess I'm used to all the chicken folks boosting protein when their birds are molting. Just wondering if any of the turkey folks did it too.

It was just beautiful here today. Let the girls go out to the front yard to nibble clover. All was well until a contractor pulled up across the street in a pickup. She watched him pull up & park, then bolted toward the truck. Just as he was getting out. The guy squealed & hopped back in the truck. He was afraid she was attacking him. :gig I had to explain she was just trying to car jack him. Dang bird is obsessed with cars/trucks! :/

Yeah, mine love water. They will sit down in the baby pool. If I am watering, Daisy likes to stand in the stream of water. Guess she likes to cool off those big 'ole feet. They seem to like the rain too. I spend a lot of time making sure my six waterers have fresh water in them. But if they can find a little muddy puddle they prefer drinking from that.

Did we lose Ralphie again?

Decided to keep Annie "back of house" for now due to her vehicle obsession. Just can't have her bolting after folks vehicles. It did freak that guy out yesterday.

Turkey parents. ..I have a Bourbon Red, Annie, and a Blue Slate, Daisy.

Loz...your right. Once they are fixated it's hard to distract them. That's why Annie is "grounded" for now. Funny thing, Daisy could care less.

Aurora, Adam is a hoot! I think some of his behavior is driven by him being an adolescent tom. I bet with age he'll settle down a bit. Maybe! That's funny about Eve. The only time I've seen my girls strut is when they see something they perceive as dangerous. A hawk, new dog, person they've never met. Do turkeys have a pecking order like chickens? Maybe some of their displaying has something to do with that. Daisy is clearly the lead turkey here. Annie will defer to her over things like treats or my lap. They may be close go laying. I've gotten three eggs in the past week. Someone here is already incubating, can't remember who. I don't understand why mine all of a sudden started to lay again.

Maybe Adam knows better than us! Or maybe he's just taking advantage when he can! Getting a little practice under his belt!!
My male dogs can tell when a ***** is coming into heat about a month prior to her actually coming in.
