Hey folks. Well this whole mangled right arm thing is a huge PITA! For 4 days i had a pain pump dangling off my sling. About the size of a softball. My turkey girls were extremely leery of it. Everytime I'd lean over it would swing. Glad its gone. The girls are finally getting used to the cast. Funny how the chickens could care less, but the turkeys had to investigate the whole situation.

Post pics folks!

Stephcraig...your in the right place! One of our favorite games is "Guess the Turkey Variety ". Post pictures!

Thanks for the well wishes folks. Hanging with my girls is a huge stress reliever. What is it about Bourbon Reds....Annie spent an hour inspecting the new brace. Daisy checked it out and was good. But you could just see Annie trying to figure the whole thing out.

Hey Feedman...where did you disappear too?

Ralph...don't even ask how far I've driven because of the dogs! You're a true breeder! I'm thrilled Mr. T lives up to his pictures. Where is he on the temperament scale?

Holm...I've often thought Judy must be some kind of saint. How cool you got to meet her.
I know its probably not easy to give up Mr. T.....BUT what an opportunity! Just think of how much fun we will have playing "Guess the Variety". Heck, Ralph may even have to get the Porter Facebook oracles involved. This is going to be FUN!!

Aurora...sounds like you have your hands full with young bellybuttons. I'm finding it interesting that the Palms both seem to have different temperaments than the mottleds.

Ralph...love the pics of Princess Margaret & her babies! She ought to feel like a princess with that enclosure you built. You need to write an article on how to deal with a tree nest! Its a good story!

Poor Big Bird! What the heck? First her beak now her toe nail! Geez!

Ok...R2elk...need some baby pics! You too Aurora!

Feedman...you catching a lot of rain? Word from Ste. Gen is that we've had a ton.

Ralph....did the Porter eggs hatch yet?

JR, we developed a Turkey Temperament Scale ... here you go:

Lapper - A lap turkey. This turkey seeks out attention/affection. Enjoys physical contact.

Tolerant - A turkey that will allow you to handle him, but doesn't seek out phyical contact.

Lurky - A turkey who will hang out near you but is not fond of contact.

Bellybutton - A jerky turkey...

My two hens are Lappers. They will hop in my lap to get petted. Usually results in them falling asleep!
