Daisy is such a sweetie...my neighbor came down last night. She sat in "our" chair. She circled eyeballing her until she left. I plopped down in the chair & she immediately hopped up on the arm. Guess in her mind i should be in that chair with her on the arm. Seems even turkeys have a sense of ownership.

In case your wondering...I'm up early with an achy arm....hence the musings. Im so over this broken arm thing...

Bantambird....very pretty! Loving the color & feather pattern.

Ralphie...I'm kinda hoping JJ Jr.is a girl.

Daisy squished an egg. Her undercarriage was a bit yolky. Decided to try & give her a bath. Filled up her tub. Was able to get her into it...one armed! She just stood there enjoying it. Set her on the bench with a fan on her. Shes all clean & fluffy. Just can't get over how easy going she is. Such a sweetie. I think Annie was waiting for her turn...but i was worn out.

Aurora....sounds like Princess may be the leader of your Bratt Pack!

Dragging this brace & arm around is exhausting...BUT I made it through the week at work! Yippee !! I would pat myself on the back, but cant bend my arm. :(

My turkeys are a real bright spot at the end of the day. I was feeling tired & a bit frustrated last night. I just plopped down on my back porch steps. Ended up with the turkeys sharing the steps...one on either side of me. Hanging with my hens sure cheered me up!

Cute shirt Gevshiba! Now thats a good friend!

Ya'll been slacking in the picture department. Here i am, on "limited" duty, in pain, with no pictures to distract me. ;)

Inquiring minds want to know:

Feisty: How is Big Bird? Is the beak healing? Any idea what caused the toe injury?

Aurora: Really need a photo of Eve & Cuddles lap sharing. How is Adam doing with the new babies?

Feedman: Looked like you caught a bunch of rain. Hope all is ok. You have Palms, do they have different temperaments than other varieties? Just thinking of Aurora's Bratt Pack.

R2elk: I noticed they were calling for calendar photos. I'm hoping you submit a few turkey shots!

Ralphie: Did the tree hen join the main flock, or is she going to be a tree hugger for life? Did your Porter eggs hatch?

JR: You need to post some pics!

Holm: Miss ya!

Can't wait to see pics Holm!

Feisty...sounds like the girls are in a snit!

Daisy went to lay a late afternoon egg. Annie hopped up on the back porch rail making chirping sounds. I went out & sat with her. Lots of snuggles. I think she has figured out that when Daisy is busy she can get all the attention. She is so sweet! Who cares about a broken arm when your getting hen hugs!

JR...I caught my blue slate hen, Daisy, on the way to work one morning. She was standing roadside in rush hour traffic. Need i mention i turkey wrassled her in pumps. After the first week i was in love & we started to bond. A friend of mine mother had died & she was trying to place her chickens. She mentioned there was one Bourbon Red hen running around out in the field with the pigs & goats. By this time i realized Daisy needed a roommate. So we caught her...turkey wrassling in proper shoes this time. I named her Annie Jones because she has a beard. Annie Jones was the first bearded lady for the Barnum & Bailey Circus. I think Feisty suggested the name.

Both girls have turned into such wonderful pets. Sweet, fun and entertaining. Love 'em both!! They were both wild when i got them. But by spending time with them they have both turned into lappers. They are such good turkey ambassadors. Many of the neighbors come down in the evenings with cocktails to hang with the hens.

I've really enjoyed learning about turkey behavior & vocalization. Still learning!!
