Daisy's little 6 year old friend came down to visit yesterday evening. She sat on a bench & Daisy hopped up & settled down next to her. That bird really likes that kid. Seems like her parents are going to allow her 4 chickens this spring. No turkeys, just a few chicks. She's thrilled!

She's more "tolerant" with adults until she knows them. Annie is more of a moma's girl. Not too excited about other folks wanting to pet her. And could care less about kids.

So earlier this week, when it was close to 80, I was thinking I'd have to cut my lawn this weekend. And now its SNOWING!

Aurora, my uncle in PA said they are supposed to get 12-20 inches of snow Monday.

My callycanthus, a little understory tree, is in bloom. Beautiful with a dusting of snow.

I went to a treadle feeder for the chickens. Squirrels, chipmunks, rats...whatever...can't get into it and no wasted feed. The turkeys will kill a rodent. They did away with the chipmunks.

Aurora, when Annie was broody I'd wet her feed in a small dish & she thought she was getting a treat! Would pull her off the nest a few times a day & feed her mush. I swear she gained weight! They love wet feed.

My neighbor/chicken sitter and I are fighting over Annie's eggs! We both love eating them! Daisy has not laid yet. Starting to wonder why not.

Boy was Annie vocal yesterday evening! Not sure what was going on with her. She was funny and obviously trying to tell me something. Would just stand in front of me yapping away. Loudly!
