Well, after being rejected by that toddler, Daisy met a new neighbors son who is fascinated with her. The girls were grazing in front yesterday evening and I was chatting with a neighbor. I could see this kid, around 8-9, walking down the street with his mom. I could see his whole face change when he saw the girls. And of course Daisy went sliding up to him immediately. Still can't believe how much she likes kids & how patient she is. She's fine with adults, but with kids she's all over them like a cheap feather suit.

We have a 4th of July parade on our street each year. This year will be the 62nd parade. It's an amazing spectacle. Fire trucks, boy scout groups, cops on horses, floats, and every kid is riding a decorated bike or scooter. Even decorated dogs. Hundreds of folks. Folks that grew up here come back with their kids & now grandkids. We all decorate our houses. It's so cool! Tonight we had our neighborhood cookout. Everyone asked where the turkeys are. Daisy, being a renowned food thief, is banned from such affairs. But she & Annie will get lots of visitors tomorrow. Daisy will love it, Annie will grumble the whole time!
