I'm just annoyed because it's so uncomfortable to be outside. Been taking the girls for their evening walks, but I don't last too long! I will say, Daisy sure cleaned up on moths yesterday evening. In the evenings they hang out in the lawn. She sure enjoys hunting them. Annie, not so much. She likes to graze. Daisy will graze a bit, then spend most of her walk hunting. Kinda fun watching her!

He is handsome! How "old" is he? Really love the tail!

Molpet....several of my dog show friends (those with a lot of dogs) get feed drop shipped from the manufacturers. Not sure if that's an option. But you could contact a manufacturer and discuss it with them. They are always anxious to sell more feed!! There is that Chewy company that drop ships feed. I do have a friend getting parrot feed from them. It may cost a bit more but think of the time & gas it would save. R2elk had a good suggestion...ask them to order some for you.

Geez! Picture this....

Had just finished scrubbing all waters & wading pools & refilled everything. I was wet. Both from the hose & sweat. Hair falling out of a bun. Collapsed in an Adirondack chair. Daisy on my lap. Sussex on an arm. Wadding pools right at my feet containing chickens & a turkey. Fan blowing on us all. Neighbor decided to bring her out of town family over to meet the turkeys. We looked like Tennessee trash! Dumped Daisy off my lap only to discover the front of my shirt & shorts was muddy from her having been wading. They didn't stay long.....

I don't know....non GMO, organic.....I don't have the gumption to track down feed like that. I don't have the time to mix my own either. Nor the knowledge to do it correctly. Guess I could educate myself...but again...too much time & brainpower involved. I do buy from a locally owned small business family feed store vs TSC. Just like to support local small businesses.

Hi Pmoore ....lucky turkeys to have you rescue them! They can bond strongly with humans. One of my hens I rescued off the side of the road in the middle of rush hour traffic. I spent a lot of time sitting in a lawn chair just hanging out with her. Didn't take long for her to decide I was her new best friend. I bought her a roommate. Had to run her down in a field. So neither had much contact with humans. Now, they are both like dogs with feathers. They follow me around everywhere. Come when I call them. And will hop in my lap to take naps. My advice is to spend time with them. Just hang out with them. Hand them a treat once in awhile. They will begin to trust you. And soon you too will have lap turkeys! They can make great pets!

We had a break in the heat & humidity yesterday! Only got to the mid 80's! Welcome break....especially for the girls. They were being silly on our evening stroll. Flapping & twirling. Grazing & bug hunting. They didn't want to go to bed. Daisy was especially animated. She was the one twirling. I know my neighbors think she's nuts! They sure were enjoying the cooler weather.
