If you need, get a hen saddle. You know who makes them (Aurora). I feed an 18% layer feed. My girls are fat & fluffy. Its a commercial feed. Don't care about non GMO.

Interested in R2elks opinion. Ralph & Aurora are pretty good with genetics too....

Mine have 24/7 access too. Daisy eats breakfast at first light. Annie likes brunch. They do eat at different times. That's one reason I leave it out all the time. This time of year they are eating a lot. Little porkers!

Its 24 here this morning. My aussie dogs bounded out the door. My coonhound stuck his nose out the door & disappeared. Found him asleep in my bed. Big difference between a double coated breed & a slick hound coat. Aurora...you may have to make him a hound coat!!
Not getting above freezing today. At least we didn't get any of the precipitation our lame weather people were predicting. And it's going to be in the 60's this weekend. Geez...

Got home after dark. Usually the girls put themselves to bed in their coop if I'm late. But tonight they were asleep on my back porch rail. Had to log each half asleep bird to their coop & place them on their roost. The nice thing about bonded birds....they just murmured little tweets as I grabbed each one. At least I got a few hen hugs. Boy they are a bit chunky this time of year...

Lovely photos Aurora. Even if it made me put on a sweatshirt. The wild turkeys are cool. What the heck are they eating in all that snow? I'm going to show those pictures to the girls. They have no idea how spoiled they are!!

Was heading to NYC on business. Flight was cancelled. We decided to reschedule a few weeks out due to weather. We were walking a job site but due to weather contractor is behind. The point of this this is I am yet AGAIN missing my chance to eat a guinea!! Third time!!
