Took advantage of our "cold" front & cleaned the turkeys pen. Gave them a freshly laundered towel! Which I'm sure they will appreciate. Surprising few poops on the towel! They have managed to keep it pretty clean!
I have "MY TOWELS", Dog Towels, and now turkey towels!

Yeah...I have multiple phones & no camera. R2elk, you ought to consider one. They can be pretty handy. I've converted my land line to a cell phone. I have all my email forwarded to it which is convenient. I think I use my cell phone now more than my laptop. Just the other day I was sitting in the pen with the poults. Daisy hopped in my lap and I propped the phone on her back & pulled up a few YouTube vids. Technology is amazing!

So the poults got their blankie all sorted out & snuggled in for an afternoon nap. Daisy perched on the arm of my chair in front of a fan for her afternoon nap. Even the chickens are chilling out in the heat of the day.
I need to start getting the poults out of the pen and into the yard to explore. I open the door & Daisy comes out but they hesitate to leave the pen. They follow her to the door & stop. I haven't put any pressure on them to go explore....but I may toss them out this week. We'll see....

How long do they keep their juvenile feathers?

My mottled is getting cute little white spots all over in it's new feathers! I'm so happy! It's been so scruffy looking....but the juvie feathers are pretty cool! The penciled has always looked pretty....but that poor mottled was a bit unfortunate looking for awhile!

My poults are getting so big so fast. The penciled is nosy! The mottled is adventurous. They sure have different personalities. That's what's so much fun about turkeys....they all have their own little quirks. Been letting a few of the neighbors come and see them. They need to get used to seeing other people. It's the culture of the neighborhood! No kids yet. Daisy inserts herself between a visitor and the poults. At first I thought she might be protective of the babies....but I think she just wants all the attention! Why am I not surprised?
