I'm in grieving because I just went through a week + battle to save one of my pet chickens... ended up doing a crop surgery and she didn't make it, too weak.... so to help me get through this, I thought I'd do a tribute to my remaining chicken friends... so here they are...

Butter: the shy one. aww, she's sweet, but she is always the last one to come out and she doesn't want anyone to pick her up.

Pounceroo: the super goofy one seriously, if you saw her run? ROFL! just everything about her is goofy.

Big Bird: the sneaky one (she is always sneaking into my garden slowly and quietly..

Queen: nuff said. she's the queen. Ethan named her before we knew she would be the run of the place... but it suits her well. she's the boss.

Rhubarb: dainty. I never thought a chicken could be dainty, but she is. everything about her is dainty, even the way she walks. Its quite amusing.

Well, DH thinks I'm crazy and "too attached", but whatever.

There you have it... those are my girls. my chicken friends.

OK, now I'll go off and sob again.

Your girls are gorgeous!! I love their names and you can never be too attached to them...is there a pic of your girl that you lost? I am sorry about your loss...I just had my sweet RIR (Mrs Feathers) down with a sour crop and was scared I would lose her but after two weeks she has pulled through...again sorry..

I don't know if I have any good pictures of Yogurt... I may, but I don't think I can do it right now. I'm too sad still. I need more time I'm afraid...

I know it hurts when you lose one, I lost my bantam hen this last winter I was so sad but the others made me feel better and I have 4 new babies and a new rooster to help make things better they will never replace Jessi but they are great to help with the grief.

What beautiful girls. I had a chick named Butter. I loved her so much and a hawk got her. It is very sad to lose a pet. I am very sorry for your loss. Looks like you take excellent care of your girls. They are fortunate to have such a good momma.

I'm sorry for the loss of your hens. I lost two in the past two months, due to sour crop.

Raising chickens is a hobby that brings the best out in me and I think others as well.

Good luck with your other girls.

Take care!
