We all make mistakes. Don't be too hard on yourself. That was so stupid of me, why would I do that.

Thank you!Sometimes when beaks (and nails) are left too long for a long period of time, the quick will grow out further than usual.
Trimming beaks is very risky, and I would only advise someone with a lot of experience doing it. That being said, sometimes you have to do it yourself.
Before trimming, it is best to open the mouth and locate the quick on the upper part of the beak. Keep that in mind when trimming and don't get too close to it. It is best to just take a tiny bit at a time over the course of a week or so.
Wrap your chick in a towel to immobilize her. Hold her head with one hand to keep her from wiggling too much. With the other hand, grab a pinch of corn starch and apply it with pressure and hold it there for a good minute or two. When you bring your fingers off of her beak, do it slowly and gently.
If the bleeding has stopped, just hold her wrapped up for a while to ensure she doesn't use her beak. That way a good clot can form.
I’ll try not to, how long should I keep her separate from the others? We all make mistakes. Don't be too hard on yourself.![]()
Can you post a pic of her beak so I can see how bad it is?I’ll try not to, how long should I keep her separate from the others?
I stopped it bleeding, bad pictures but here they areCan you post a pic of her beak so I can see how bad it is?
I would imagine that she would be fine to go in with others once you know it's not going to bleed anymore.
How long do you think until it definitely won’t bleed again. Can you post a pic of her beak so I can see how bad it is?
