My son has 3 Perkins I believe that weren’t sexed. They are about 8 weeks old. They have their voices but they are extremely confusing to determine their sex because, they grunt, one will belt out a loud quack like noise. They’re noisy with grunts, squeals, and such. So I have a video and pics. Do you know if there are any females or are they all drakes???

I’m not sure how to attach a video clip.

They enjoy their coffee in the morning. (It’s just water in a Folgers can, that they muddied up)

The ones that belt out loud, quack like noises are females. Males have a quieter chatter. Some say it sounds raspy but to me it's just an odd kind of mechanical sound.

I think you have to link videos from somewhere else, which means you have to post them at somewhere like Youtube first. I could be wrong, though.

Thanks Jed. I’ll try YouTube and attach a link

Here is the link to hear there sounds. They all sound the same (to me)

Finally I was able to upload another video… it’s not easy, but I think I’m getting the hang of it.

Great video. The one in the pond is for sure a female, and the one in back on the edge of the pond is one as well. The one on the edge that's closer to the camera doesn't seem to have grown into its adult voice yet, so I can't tell with that one. If you have heard that one quack loudly, then it is a female, but it might just take a bit more time. Here's a good site, with videos that show the difference in sound between drakes and ducks.
