Triple yolked eggs.

I used to breed La Bresse Gauloise chickens, and i was pleasantly surprised to get triple yolked eggs not only once .... but four times, at first i thought i was seeing things and nobody would believe me, the next time i saw one i made sure i showed it around. I am wondering if anyone else has seen this? and from what breed of chicken and roughly what age was the bird? Mine incidentally were all from pullets.

Once or twice I've seen it, but mine were all mongrels. I have had some purebreds at the start, but as a rule I steer clear of doubleyolkers etc because too many experience laying trouble and oversized eggs and it's heritable. Two eggs a day, or one, not doubleyolkers or tripleyolkers, is my preference. I've seen large as well as bantam eggs with multiple yolks.
