I've been on farm'ish property all my life. Horses, tomatoes, chickens and geese. Now I'm an 'empty nester' in NE Florida, with 3 furry little dogs, chickens, 10 acres and an awesome DH!
Recently I needed to add to my lil flock (1buff orpington, 1 black Astrollup and 1 barred girl whose sweet as can be (mix of BO and golden something)

I got my BF interested in bkyard chicks and when she got hers, I decided to get a fee bitties and a roo.

So off I go, returned home (planned purchases) with one re homed roo (lavender Orpington about 14 weeks is best guess) and 2 lavender pullets. Problem is, I think someone got it wrong about my roo being a roo! No crowing, and the big girls spar with him(her).

Thoughts?

A very belated welcome to BYC.
14 weeks is a young cockerel. Larger breed cockerels crow a little later than smaller breeds. When he gets older and develops more confidence, he will eventually win the girls over. He just needs more time.
