Hi all! I have a pair of ducks, one drake Indian runner and one female mixed breed, for about 2 years now. They've always been so sweet and doting.. the male follows the female everywhere and is very sweet to her. They have been together since ducklings.

We have recently moved house to south England and the female now seems to be fighting with the drake... nothing serious but very noisy tussling and squabbling. She's tugging as his neck feathers and pushing his head down. They'll still sleep next to eachother and share food but it's such a change from the sweet relationship they once had.

Does anyone know why?? The only info I have seen relates to drake aggression.

She is acting dominant. Perhaps change of environment triggered it and will fade away when she realizes nothing else changed.
Perhaps you can close her up for an hour or two when she does that...
