i have 5, one week old ducklings. 1 black swedish, 2 pekins, 1 rouen and 1 rouen mix. Their names are Quackers (pekin) Wobbles (pekin) Daiquiri (rouen) Peanut (rouen mix) Oreo (black swedish) They are kinda afraid of me though! Everytime i pick one up it starts peeping and the other started peeping! if i put just one outside the box it starts running around making a fuss but if i put the other ones down with it they are fine! will they out grow this?? its frustrating! they have separation issues! will my ducks always be like this?? i really need advice!
heres some pics of them

here is my duck quackers (pekin) (the bigger one) in the bathtub!

here is Quackers agan!

sorry its sideways!

That is normal. Ducklings (and ducks) don't like to be alone. Ducklings will peep constantly when they are alone.

They are afraid of you because you are a giant predator and they are low in the food chain. They will get more used to you with time, but it takes a lot of effort if you want them to be pet-like.

ok that makes sense! :) thanks for the input

My ducks are 13 weeks old, and I tried to handle them a lot when they were little, but they've always acted like I'm about to eat them. I've been trying to stay low and slow with them and provide treats to show them that I'm not evil, but they won't let me touch them at all. They'll come within a few feet for the treats, but as soon as I'm out of goodies, they take off back to their pool. The only way I could ever pick one up is if I chase him or her into a corner, and I kinda try to avoid this as I'm sure it would only make it worse. Keep trying while they're young and hopefully they'll come around.

ok thanks they started to warm up to me more now!

I sit with mine every day. I make sure I sit down on the grass and just let them come up to me when they are ready. If they are in the coop and I am outside and talk to them, they all run to the door but as soon as I walk up to the door, they run away. So I figure I will just let them get used to me being in there and maybe eventually I will be able to hold and pet them. Sometimes I even take a book in the coop with me, sit on the ground and read. They don't mind me being in there as long as I am not standing up. :)

mine are on a screened in back porch in a tub with shavings and food and water (since they are only a week old) and i feed them treats and put them outside and sit with them but you would think they would stay close to "mama duck" but no, they are so wanna go go go! all the time! and they hate being separated! they will peep and cry till they are all together! mine dont follow me at all! dont even come half the time even when i have treats! but after they swim they come up and sleep on my lap and nuzzle themselves in the crooks of my arms! but dont follow me and still dont "enjoy" being picked up! they will cry and squirm!

Sounds like you need a puppy, ducks really aren't lap pets, okay some can tame them but most aren't. I can pick mine up and i have had them for 9yrs. but they really don't like it. It's scary being picked up by a big human. I am content that they like to hang out with us when we sit outside and love to be with us when we bring out the shovel to do yard work, WORMS maybe found. lol
