troubles with egg laying

Out of my 3 laying pullets only one egg made it into the nest today. They have been laying next to the fake egg(a hard boilde one) but today the hard boiled one was compleatly missing no shell or anything.One egg was under the pearch the other by the door. The last was where it was supposed to be. Any ideas where the fake egg is no shell or anything. it might of been because they had no water i accidentally left it out side of the run last night. any advise will be much helpful.

They probably ate it! Don't leave real eggs because it trains them to be egg eaters...use a golf ball if you think they need something.

its worked for a while are they going to continue eating the eggs

There is also a possibility that a snake ate the egg.
