Wood ducks inspecting a nesting site in our backyard. They have used it since 2016. It's simply a hollow log cut to the proper length, a hole cut into it with a chainsaw, a plywood bottom screwed to it and a roof added. It is mounted to a washline pole the bottom of it being about five feet off the ground. We have never had any problem with predators getting the eggs before they hatched.

A very feminine dainty Cubalaya pullet free ranging. She is a very attractive color with the sharp contrast of a dark hackle and cinnamon colored body along with the dark tail feathers. She is definitely one of my favorites and point of lay in this picture.
