I wasn't able to get pics today, this guy got out of the paddock and came to find me. I was over 300 feet away and not in clear view. Oh and did I mention the fence is 4' high? Not bad for a meatie.

Well, my toothpicks broke, I am reviving the conversation! Lol. We process them ourselves. We have a plucker and two small scalders and a kitchen grade stainless steel sink and countertop for eviscerating. We do it out in the woods, it is a very functional setup.
Yes! dat is perfect.
You tortured my passwords out of me with the dreaded whipped cream. Do you want me to tell the whole troyer chat thread about your crime?

Dan, adorable babies!I have some about that size, what is their birthday?

Oh sweet! We're not setup for that.

How do you feed them? And how big are they usually by about 8 weeks?

It took is a year to get set up for it, while we didn't have a spot, we took them to a friends house an hour away, and they helped us process them.

We feed them non GMO feed from a feed mill 3 hours from here. With previous broilers we have fed them for 12 hours, and then taken the feed away for 12 hours, but I think this time they'll have free choice, they can handle it since they aren't puny lil Cornish x. By eight weeks I think ours are about 5 pounds.....We usually butcher them around 10-12 weeks and by then they are about 7-9 pounds depending... They are also in chicken tractors that get moved every morning, so grass is a large part of their diet.

:gig

I got home from church and had about 20 come running under a hole we missed. :P

:lau :lau did they all come running? XD

One time Suzie got out. Twice in a row  she immediately wanted back in, but forgot where the hole was XD so I went out to catch her and she came running up to me! :love :love :love

Ah, I see.

That's a long drive, we can get it about 20 minutes from here (thankfully.)
