Yeah, pigs don't care for their babies like most mammals do. Thus the high litter numbers.
Well they seem to be doing a darn good job of it in the wild :lau It's probably partly because it's her first time and she was an older gilt when we bred her too, she was about a year and a half when we bred them.

Not really, some people do but I don't think we do, the guy we borrowed the boar from says with as long as the gilts had been coming in heat if there were any near us we'd have known it way before he dropped the boar off.
