Thank goodness I don't have a bedtime

I wouldn't survive.
Make those times 10:00 and 10:45 and then its me :D

I've only got experience with broody ducks.
Lucky you...today Gertrude was sitting on her eggs when I went to let them out. I got really excited, but then she left as soon as I opened the door :(
Btw, I got an 85g egg this morning!

Lol I usually don't go to bed until at least 12 but sometimes it's 2. The other night I took an hour and a half nap around 8 pm then stayed up till 6 something :lau

:D She might be thinking about it, I've got one who keeps getting in the nest during the morning but getting off when I let them out but man does she get puffed up! It took Big Mama a good week before she went full on, she'd sit on the eggs in the morning but get off when I let everyone out.

Sweet!

Wow! That's awesome!!!!! I hope one of my cockerel gets the idea of what he was born to do and silkie will go broody in a clue of months. This is her first year of laying, so I'm not sure if she will though. Anyone with advice in that, please comment.

Since silkies are one of the best broody breeds, there is a HUGE chance that shell go broody before she hits 1 year.
DONT GIVE HER EGGS TIL SHE PASSES 1 YEAR.
They suck at motherhood when they're that young

That would be great if she did! I was thinking about getting a few mallards if they would be good mommies. (thats just an excuse, I dont need my ducks to hatch eggs, I can perfectly well get them at tsc. But if I get more ducks, they would have to have some purpose so thats what Im gonna say they would be for :D )
