I don't know if they're sexed or not. I've been thinking about trying to convince them to keep at least a couple hens.(if they are straight run)

Cool. Have you told your mom that if you keep a few hens and a roo (in the case of straight run) you can breed your own and won't have to buy them again?

I haven't seen my mom since Monday morning so no I haven't. However we're also getting Wyandotte and Speckled Sussex straight run and those are also good dual purpose breeds so I don't know if keeping any would be necessary.
