Troyergals Chat Thread!!!

Indeed.

Yeah, and really I think I'd rather have a billy with horns than not, at least if he starts head butting I've got a way to grab him, without horns you're pretty much helpless.

I've seen the guys at the sale do that too :(
One reason leader always had a halter on was so I could grab him anytime I needed to or the kids did... He was polled!

Wow! The most I've seen a boer go for was $330
I know part of it is that hey cost $600 a ton so in order to make money back you have to sell high.
Nice. He's really pretty. We think Armondo is mostly Kiko. I guess he was real cheap compared to that fella.

$1000!???? :th Wow. Good goats go for about 250 to 300 here.

That's awesome!
Yeah, it is partly because he has a lot of good lines in him. He himself I can see a lot of flaws with but with the lines behind him I know I will be getting a good buck!

Yes sir, $1000... And $4000 for 5-does.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited!

:th:th:th
She could easily go for $2000 here! Maybe $3000 because she is bred!
She's actually the cheapest I've ever seen, most bred heifers or cows go for around $1,200 to $1,600.

I can understand that. Ben became a bit agressive last fall (rut :rolleyes) but we promptly broke him of that behavior but I'm sure I'd have been a lot more beat up if I hadn't had horns to grab, sure he could quite easily push me around but I could control where his head was and where his horns went.

Yeah, leader got my mom a few times... One time he knocked her over while she was pregnant... But she was able to stop him because he had a halter... Being able to move the head is good!

I don't think a it if people think in livestock think... They think in let thinking.

1500 is how much cows go for in Oregon!

Yeah that does make a difference, we can feed almost exclusively off brush year round so the feed cost is much lower.

Ah, I see. I like the Kiko/Kiko mixes, they're real hardy and good for meat and with a little work I bet you could get some good milk production too.

Wow! $100 is our cut off for either.
