Ah. That one looks a lot like my Leghorn cockerel so that’s why I was wondering. Brown leghorns and wellys are the same color pattern.

Common mistake. I believe Welsummers have the mahogany gene, which makes their hackle and saddle and secondaries dark orangey red unlike the gold streaked with black of the leghorn.
They both are duckwing though.

Hnm. Shiny enough for the pullets, but the rooster... hmm. Nah. Mahogany feathers are much shinier. You beat the pullets but the roosters cannot be beat.

I'm sorry. I don't like Easter Egger roosters because they are kind of a hodge podge. I'm sure he's pretty, but the hens just have a look that makes you want to squeeze them and strole their soft beard and pet their wide orange head and make sure they have good flesh because now I check for it in my birds because I have to learn how to do that. (Cause Buckeyes have to be meaty.)
I prefer the more plump (not fat, but in good flesh) looking birds over slim ones because I know it means they are productive.

Leghorns are pretty though. The have a neat back sweep and awesome floppy combs and white earlobes. I simply prefer meatier birds.

I wish I could take pictures like you. Then my birds would look so nice. Mine reflect the sun.
