Yup, you are right but Katherine Hepburn played in Rooster Cogburn, the second of the True Grit trilogy. Kim Darby was in the first and did a good job but I think the new actress Hailey Steinfeld did a GREAT job!!

I read this post today at work where I couldn't listen to the music in the OP. Had forgotten how powerful it was. Iris Dement is awesome.

Wife came by, noted tears in eyes, heard the music and just said that's a pretty song and walked on by.

Everybody I know went to see this movie and loved it! I went with my dad and we both walked out shaking our heads. Perhaps I should watch the older one though. My dad and I thought it was a bit goofy for our taste in western movies. I laughed at Rooster Cogburn, but I could not stand that young girl!
