Trying to 'mix' Peach with Cameo does not improve the color and is looked down upon in the breeding world. It is difficult enough for most people to ID Cameo from Peach as it is but to proliferate that mix has caused a lot of problems causing people to sell birds calling them the wrong name. By adding the gray of Cameo to a nice reddish Peach only dulls it and distracts from the hard work we have done to improve the color.

If you want a nice 'red' bird we have here in the states what we call Red Buff. This is a Hybrid Black Shoulder Red Buff hen.

This chick is one of my Projects showing extreme Peach color at an early age.

The way to improve color is to selective breeding the best birds not dilute them.

Those hens are so pretty! I never knew there was anything like red for peafowl

A fellow named Earnie West in California propagated the Red Buff about 50 years ago. Yes they are quite beautiful but in this case it is all about the hens, the cocks will have a slight reddish hue to them in the spring as well as being quite red as chicks but turn to a normal hybrid BS as they mature.
