Trying again with my Old Drawer bator - 6 Babies! *PICS*

Thanks everyone.

He's drying off nicely and there are two more pipped eggs now. Our youngest DD actually stayed up very late last night and got to watch #1 hatch out completely. She was right back at the incubator this morning and ran over to shout at me about the new pips.

I was like, all right all right, I'm rolling out of bed.

Baby #2 is out!

#3 is zipping, and #4 is pipping!

Baby #4 is out! #5 is pipped, and #6 punched a big crack into the wrong side of his egg. Dunno if he'll make it out or not.

Here's #4.... and I think this is one of the coolest hatching photos I've gotten yet.

They can look sooo indignant when they first fall out of the egg. Like they're irritated that somebody put them in this undignified position!

How many eggs total in the bator? I know you probably said, but I missed it.

After the last candling I ended up with 9 out of 11 EE eggs that were still developing and went to hatch.

Woke up this morning to find #5 and #6 hatched!

Even if the other three don't hatch now, I am very pleased with the results. This has been about on par with my HovaBator, except I've got no curved feet in this bunch. Almost every hatch (with the exception of one) in the Hova, at least one had curved feet that needed repair, or had feet that were super huge. These guys are all just cute and normal. I think this is a win for my Old Drawer bator!

Those are good signs that this bator is more consistent! And they're adorable. So you should be pleased.

I'm babysitting two turkey eggs due to hatch that probably won't, few of this hen's eggs ever hatch. Still I find it hard to ignore a potential life... shrug.

I've got guineas due and a chicken, then more turkeys from the new hens...
