So I think what I have here is a little boy WCB polish and possibly little girl frizzled Cochin, but I'm new to chickens so I wanted some more educated opinions. I was really hoping for 2 girls because I can't keep a roo :(. Also, not sure if it's a cochin or a mutt, or a frizzle or a frazzle. The leg feathers are pretty sparse and weren't even really visible until a week ago. I think they were both about a week old when I got them based on pictures I've seen of others, and I've had them for almost two weeks. But again with the curly one it's hard to say since there seems to be a large variation on how long it takes them to feather. The polish one was smaller than the other when I got them but now they're roughly the same size.

Taken today at around 3-ish weeks:

I don't have pictures from when I got them because I was too excited to remember to take any, but I found these online that look very similar to where they were feather development wise

Someone else's babies but similar feathering to mine two weeks ago:

Neither look like roos to me, Polish can be a bit harder til the crest fills out. Just have to wait til they get a bit older! Look for bright red appearing in the combs over the next few weeks, and comb size. Your polish appears to be non bearded, so look for the growth of wattles, of which there is none yet. The males get bright red wattles at a young age. Females get wattles as well but they are smaller and not as red as those of the males, and they only get redder when they get closer to laying age.

Also, they seem to do a bit of sparring when I have them outside to play. From what I read this is normal for both genders at this age, but today the little polish jumped on the cochin's back and just perched there for a minute. The little cochin continued to walk around happily giving a piggyback ride.

If one or both turn out to be boys is there anyone in the Los Angeles area that might like to adopt them? Not for dinner. :) I don't think they'd be very meaty anyway. I would be willing to drive them out a little ways if necessary. I know it's still a bit early to tell, but I just want to make sure I have a plan in place for just in case.
