Trying to hatch shipped eggs - Take 1

My remaining 6 Barnevelders went into lockdown this morning. 5 are looking very good even though they are pretty badly saddled, and one is lively but very underdeveloped so we shall see come Saturday what happens!

I don't know if I should give these guys another couple of days.. one did pip, but hasn't made much progress since. I do need to put in 3 more guinea eggs into lock down tonight.

Day 25 and still alive indicates a incubation temp that was too low. Did you figure out where you were with temp. with your instruments? The little one that has pipped but not progressed, when did it pip? Sorry your results were not more productive for your hatch, that is such a bummer.

the temp was at around 99 most of the time. in a still air incubator. It pipped sometime yesterday

Temp too low for still air. It needs to be around 102degs. Is the chick still alive?

Well, 6 of my 10 shipped eggs made it to lockdown. One has pipped this evening, just shy of 20.5 days.

Thanks! None of the others are promising, though. I went to TSC and bought 4 cuckoo Marans chicks so my olive egger won't be lonely.
