trying to inect tylan 50

my hens started coughing yesterday
so i was planning on using Tylan 50
is it better to inject them or to put down their throat
i am scared now because i lost a beautiful hen 3 days ago
and the rest of them are starting with the same symptoms
HELP

I've always given it as an injection into the breast. 1/2 cc per 3 pounds of body weight.
